Its About Us page describes it as a nonprofit school that gives students “an innovative alternative option of obtaining a high school diploma,” with computer-based and direct instruction that lets students work at their own pace on a flexible schedule. Charter schools are sponsored by Broward County Public Schools but run by their own governing boards, and they have no attendance zones: students apply.

How admission works
From the school’s admissions page and its 2026-27 handbook:
- Applications are accepted at any time of the year, through the online registration form or in person at the school. Registration forms are posted in English, Spanish, Creole and Portuguese.
- The student signs a records request for previous schools, and an assessment test is scheduled.
- The school checks proof of residence and age and collects the documents the district requires, including a birth certificate, report card or transcript and immunization records.
- New students go through an orientation of at least two days, then meet an academic advisor and are assigned classes and a session.
Enrollment
- District count: 283 students across the two school numbers on Aug. 21, 2026, the 10th day of the 2026-27 school year, according to the district’s Tenth Day Enrollment Count:
- Academic Solutions Academy - A (5233): 150 students, nine in 10th grade, 23 in 11th and 118 in 12th, down from 198 a year earlier
- Academic Solutions High School (5028): 133 students, one in ninth grade, six in 10th, 28 in 11th and 98 in 12th, down from 171 a year earlier
- Federal count: 204 students at 5233 and 224 at 5028 in the 2024-25 school year, according to the NCES directory. The federal records list no teacher count, so no student-teacher ratio is given here.
State report card
The state’s 2026 school grades file has no A to F grade for either school number. The school links the state’s report card site from its website; the report cards are at 5233 and 5028.
The handbook says students take courses through Edgenuity, a digital curriculum also used for credit recovery, with direct instruction for courses that end in a state end-of-course exam. Students need 80% or better to pass a course and keep a portfolio that is reviewed before graduation. The school’s graduation requirements (PDF) are posted on its home page.
