Downtown Coral Springs: City Hall's lawn and events, Cornerstone's restaurants, the art museum's new gallery, the ArtWalk, free parking and what is being built.

Last checked Oct. 8, 2026. Facts come from the City of Coral Springs downtown projects and Community Redevelopment Agency pages and the Coral Springs Museum of Art. City Hall: 954-344-1000.

Downtown Coral Springs is the area around Sample Road and University Drive, about 136 acres that the city has been rebuilding since it set up a Community Redevelopment Agency in 2002. Coral Springs began in the 1960s as a planned “city of the future,” and its downtown is still taking shape: a City Hall with a lawn for big events, a public art walk, and now a block of apartments, restaurants and the art museum at Cornerstone.

City Hall and its lawn

The city’s biggest public events happen on the lawn at City Hall, 9500 W. Sample Road, and the City Hall garage is free on event nights. Coming up, from the city’s events pages:

Date Event Cost
Friday, Nov. 6 Patriotic Community Concert, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., with a Zac Brown Band tribute Free
Saturday, Dec. 5 Light Up the Lawn tree lighting, 5 to 9 p.m. Free
Wednesday, Dec. 9 Holiday Parade along Sample Road, 7 to 9 p.m. Free

At the concerts, lawn chairs and blankets are welcome, dogs can come on a leash, and a water refill station is set up. The city’s advice if you drink: take a rideshare home and leave your car in the City Hall garage overnight. In December the City Hall tree has run a light show timed to holiday songs every half hour, 5 to 10 p.m. nightly. More in our Christmas parade and tree lighting guide.

Cornerstone Plaza

Cornerstone Plaza, on the southwest corner of Sample Road and North University Drive, is the new heart of downtown: two Modera apartment buildings with restaurants and shops at street level. The city’s list, which it updates as leases are signed:

Public art and the ArtWalk

The ArtWalk on NW 31st Court is about 1,300 feet of landscaped path with seating walls and spots for six sculptures, planted mostly with native species, and it doubles as event space for up to 52 tents. The city’s virtual art tour map shows where each permanent piece is. No tax money buys the art: it is paid for by a fee on developments larger than 12,500 square feet, the city says.

What is being built

  • City Village: Amera Downtown Development Company plans to redevelop Village Square and two city-owned parcels in downtown’s northwest quarter, where City Hall once stood, with grocery, retail, restaurants and entertainment. The city agreed to sell its land for $4.6 million. Its project page says more details are coming.
  • The CRA sunsets in 2032. Until then it offers grants covering half the cost of approved exterior improvements to commercial buildings downtown.

Nearby

The Museum of Coral Springs History, in the city’s 1964 real estate sales office, now sits in Mullins Park at 10250 NW 29th St. It is free; its next open tour day is Saturday, Oct. 24, noon to 2 p.m., with a history and Halloween theme.
